Yom Kippur Katan.
Rabbi Reiss offered the following message:
לא ישא גוי אל גוי חרב ולא ילמדו עוד מלחמה (ישעיהו ב:ד)
Whenever there is war in the world, it is a sign of the universe being in an unredeemed state, and it is an indication of potential danger.
During this period, it is important for us to reach out in prayer to Ribbono Shel Olam in realization of the fact that אין לנו על מי להישען אלא על אבינו שבשמים.
As we enter into Yom Kippur Katan immediately prior to Rosh Chodesh Adar HaSheni, the month in which we celebrate Purim, it behooves us to turn to Hashem, like our ancestors during the days of Mordechai and Esther, to pray for Divine protection.
